Floriade 2012

Myself at Floriade 2012!
At the end of September this year, a friend and I took the train down to Canberra for the long weekend to visit Floriade - the big flower festival. We were visiting a friend at the Australian National University (ANU), but being keen to take some great photographs, we also managed to fit in a day at the Floriade.

You would think it would attract an older demographic - which is true to some extent - but there were plenty of young uni-aged people and families there as well. The flower presentations were extremely impressive and I wasn't disappointed at all. We also went to the NightFest event at the festival, which was SO so so bitterly cold (such a contrast to the heat at the moment) but a fantastic night. Check out some of my photos below from the event. I also made a video from our time at the NightFest that I've uploaded to YouTube, featuring fairy floss, a ferris wheel, light shows and great live music.

Note: if you'd like to use these photos anywhere, please ask me first. I'm sure I'll be more than happy to oblige, but just leave me a comment or shoot me an email first :)
